DJI FPV drone keeps drifting in normal mode, not sure if its the goggles or calibration

  • Members

been having this weird issue where in normal mode the thing just slowly drifts left even when im not touching the sticks. manual mode is fine weirdly enough, or at least i dont notice it as much. already did IMU calibration twice and the compass once. flying in a big open field so its not like interference from buildings or anything obvious.

the motion controller is what im using and i wonder if maybe its a trim issue with how im holding it, but i set it down on a flat surface and it still showed drift in the goggles so i dont think thats it. its not catastrophic drift, like it wont fly away on me, but its annoying enough that i have to keep correcting and it messes with longer slow shots. anyone had this and actually fixed it.

had something similar a while back. turned out my remote controller 2 had a slightly off-center stick that wasnt obvious but was just barely not returning to center. worth checking your stick calibration in the DJI fly app if you haven't already, there's a deadzone setting in there too i think. also check if theres any wind reading in the telemetry ? sometimes what feels like drift is just the aircraft fighting a consistent crosswind and losing slightly

the motion controller has caused me so many headaches like this. i swapped back to the regular RC controller and half my weird handling issues just went away. not saying thats whats happening with you but the motion controller adds a whole layer of variables that make troubleshooting annoying. also ? did you update firmware recently? there was a period where a specific firmware version made normal mode feel laggy and weird on the FPV drone and people were blaming hardware when it was just a bad update
