ok so i bought a DJI Mini 2 like three days ago and honestly i thought it would be more intuitive than this. ive been watching youtube videos but everyone seems to assume you already know the basics. like what does it actually mean when the app says the home point has been updated? do i need to do anything or just ignore it? also the drone keeps drifting a little even when im not touching the sticks, is that normal or is something wrong with mine. i tried calibrating the compass in the backyard but i dont know if i did it right. just kinda overwhelmed tbh

the home point thing is totally normal, it just means the drone recorded where it should fly back to if it loses signal or you hit the return to home button. it updates automatically when you take off

the home point thing is totally normal, it just means the drone recorded where it should fly back to if it loses signal or you hit the return to home button. it updates automatically when you take off or sometimes mid flight if you move around a lot. you dont need to do anything. and yeah some drift is normal especially if youre flying in any kind of wind, the mini 2 is pretty light so even a gentle breeze will push it around. if its drifting indoors thats also normal since gps doesnt really work well inside and it switches to a different positioning mode. you probably didnt break anything, just takes a bit to get used to how it behaves

compass calibration ? make sure youre doing it away from anything metal, like dont do it near your car or a chain link fence or whatever. i ruined like two flights early on because i calibrated too close to my truck. the app usually tells you if the calibration failed but sometimes it doesnt catch it and you just get weird behavior in the air. also just fly low and slow for the first few sessions, seriously just hover it at like eye level and practice moving it around before you try anything fancy
