been doing freelance aerial work for about 18 months and im kind of frustrated honestly. i get work through a couple of the drone marketplace apps and occasionally through word of mouth but every time i try to quote a job at a rate that actually makes sense for my time and gear, someone else undercuts me and gets it. its like a race to the bottom.
i know the standard advice is "niche down" and "build relationships" but im curious how people actually do that in practice. like do you just cold call businesses? show up to local contractor offices with a USB drive of your work? i feel like im missing something obvious about how to get in front of clients who arent just shopping for the cheapest option on an app.
