so ive been using litchi for about two years now mostly for waypoint stuff and the occasional orbit shot and its been fine, no real complaints, but a buddy of mine keeps going on about dronelink and how its way more flexible for complex missions. i tried the free tier and honestly got a bit lost in the interface at first.

main thing im trying to figure out is whether the waypoint behavior is actually better or if its just more options for the sake of more options. with litchi i know exactly what im gonna get, the mission hub on desktop is solid and syncs fine to my phone before i head out. dronelink seems more powerful but i feel like im gonna spend half my field time poking at menus instead of flying.

anyone made that switch and actually stuck with it? or did you end up going back. also curious if dronelink handles the mini 3 pro well because ive seen some mixed stuff about that.

been on dronelink for about eight months after years of litchi and honestly the learning curve is real but worth it if you do anything more than basic waypoints. the conditional actions stuff alone is worth it for me ? being able to trigger actions based on altitude or distance rather than just fixed points changed how i plan survey grids completely.

mini 3 pro support is decent now, had some issues maybe six months back but the devs push updates pretty regularly and it feels stable. one thing i will say is the mobile interface still feels a bit cluttered on a smaller phone screen so if you have an ipad or something bring that out to the field, makes a big difference.

i tried dronelink for like a month and went back to litchi lol. maybe im just too used to the litchi workflow but dronelink felt like overkill for what i do. if youre doing real estate or cinematic stuff litchi is honestly fine and the mission hub is just easier to deal with quickly. dronelink probably makes more sense if you're doing mapping or inspection work i think.
