so ive been using just the little soft pouch that came with it and honestly its terrifying every time i put it in my backpack. was at the airport last month and just kept my hand on it the whole flight basically. im looking at a few hard cases but theres like a million options and i dont know which ones are actually worth it vs just look good in photos.

does anyone travel with theirs regularly and have something they actually trust? not looking to spend $200 on a pelican if i dont have to but also dont want to cheap out and regret it. also wondering if anyone fits their nd filters and extra batteries in the same case without it being a total tetris puzzle

I went through like three cases before I found one I actually liked. Ended up with a Smatree hard case, it's not fancy but it fits the drone, two batteries, the controller, and I have a small mesh pouch on the inside lid where I throw my ND set. Total tetris? Kind of yeah, but once you figure out the layout it takes like 30 seconds to pack up. Way better than the soft bag situation you're describing for sure.

The foam cutouts aren't perfect out of the box for every config but I just used a spare piece of foam from another box to fill the gaps. Does the job. Wouldn't hesitate to check it as luggage if i had to.

i just use a regular Lowepro camera bag with foam dividers, fits everything and doesnt scream "drone inside" which i kinda like when traveling tbh. though if youre checking bags a hard case probably makes more sense
