Best study approach for Part 107 - structured course vs free materials?

I'm starting my Part 107 prep and seeing mixed advice online. Some people swear by paid courses (Drone Pilot Ground School, King Schools, etc.) while others say the free FAA materials are enough. What's been everyone's experience? I'm comfortable with self-study but want to make sure I pass on the first try since retakes cost another $175.

For context, I have zero aviation background but I'm pretty good at picking up technical material. Should I invest in a structured course or stick with the official study guide and practice tests?
