lost connection mid flight and it just... hovered there until i got it back

ok so this happened yesterday and i'm still kinda processing it. was flying my Air 2S probably like 400 meters out over a field near my house, not super far, and the signal just dropped completely. RC screen went gray, lost video feed, the whole thing. i didnt panic because ive read about the return to home failsafe but also this was the first time it actually happened to me so i was definitely nervous.

what actually happened is it just held its position and hovered. didnt come home, didnt do anything, just sat there. after maybe 20 seconds the link came back and everything was fine but im not sure why it didnt RTH. i have RTH set in my settings i think. is there a delay before it kicks in or something? or does it only trigger if the signal is lost for longer than that

yeah there's a timer on it, pretty sure the default is something like 11 seconds before it actually initiates RTH but it might vary. your connection probably came back just before it would have trigge

this happened to me once near some powerlines and honestly scared the life out of me even though it ended up fine. one thing i'd double check is that your home point actually got set before you took o

this happened to me once near some powerlines and honestly scared the life out of me even though it ended up fine. one thing i'd double check is that your home point actually got set before you took off ? sometimes if you launch too quickly after powering on the GPS hasn't fully locked and the home point either doesn't set or sets somewhere weird. i always wait until i see the solid green GPS indicator before i even think about taking off now. probably not your issue since yours recovered fine but worth keeping an eye on for next time
