been flying a Cinewhoop for about a year and finally pulling the trigger on a proper 5 inch freestyle setup. im gonna build it myself, already have a Radiomaster Boxer and a decent set of googles so just looking at frame + motors + stack basically.

so the debate in my head right now is whether to go with iFlight components ? probably the Nazgul frame and their XING2 motors ? or go Diatone which a few guys at my local club swear by. from what i can tell the Mamba stacks in the Diatone ecosystem are solid but ive also heard quality control can be hit or miss depending on where you order from. iFlight feels more consistent to me from what ive read but maybe thats just better marketing idk.

not doing racing, mostly just bando flying and some outdoor freestyle. ill be running DJI O3 so the stack needs to play nice with that obviously. anyone actually run both and have a real opinion vs just parroting what they heard on youtube

run both. iFlight quality has been pretty consistent in my experience and the Nazgul frame is genuinely good, arms are thick enough that you wont be replacing them every other session which matters a lot for bando flying. the XING2 motors are fine but honestly for the price point you might want to look at T-Motor Pacer or even Emax Eco III instead, better value per dollar and the performance difference at your level probably wont matter.

Diatone stuff is good too but yeah the QC thing is real, had a Mamba F722 stack that had a cold solder joint from the factory on the ESC pads. not a dealbreaker but annoying. i'd probably lean iFlight just for peace of mind on a first proper build.

the brand thing honestly matters less than people think once youre past the really cheap no-name stuff. what FC are you planning to run? thats probably more important for O3 compatability than wether its iFlight or Diatone. some of the older Mamba boards had wierd issues with the DJI air unit timing but the newer ones should be fine, just make sure youre not buying old stock
