so this has been driving me crazy for the past two weeks. im flying my mavic 3 and randomly, like completely randomly, ill get a signal warning and then full disconnect maybe 30 seconds later. sometimes it reconnects on its own, sometimes i have to rely on RTH which is fine i guess but still freaks me out every time.

the weird thing is it doesnt happen in the same place or at the same altitude. one day ill be at 80m over a field with nothing around and boom, lost link. next day ill fly the same spot and its totally fine. ive already tried switching between 2.4 and 5.8ghz manually, checked for firmware updates, even swapped out my phone for a tablet thinking maybe it was a display issue but same behavior.

anyone had this kind of intermittent thing? like if it was consistent id at least be able to narrow it down but this is almost random which makes it way harder to troubleshoot.

intermittent disconnects are the worst to chase down because you can never reproduce them on demand. a few things id look at ? first, what cable are you using between your RC and phone/tablet? the stock cables that come with these things are genuinely terrible and a flaky connection there can absolutely cause link drops that look exactly like RF interference. i went through three months thinking i had a signal problem and it was a ?4 cable the whole time.

second, are you anywhere near cell towers or like a busy wifi environment when it happens? 5.8ghz especially gets hammered in suburban areas. you can download an app like WiFi Analyzer to see whats going on in the spectrum around you before you fly. also worth checking if OcuSync or whatever link protocol youre on is set to auto channel or fixed, auto can sometimes make weird decisions mid flight.

had something similar last summer, turned out my phone was the problem. it kept trying to switch between wifi networks in the background and apparently that was enough to mess with the RC link. turned off wifi on my phone completely before flying and never had the issue again. probably not your exact problem but worth trying the simple stuff first before going too deep into RF analysis stuff
