thinking about just buying a prebuilt 5inch instead of building again

so ive been building my own quads for like 4 years now and honestly im just tired of the whole process. spent 3 weekends trying to get my latest build to stop oscillating and i still dont have it dialed. makes me wonder if i should just grab something like a Nazgul or an Apex and call it a day.

the thing is i always told myself prebuilts were for people who didnt know what they were doing but honestly at this point i just wanna fly. i know the Iflight Nazgul Evoque has been popular but ive also seen people talking about the BetaFPV Aquila... wait no that's a whoover thing. anyway what are people actually running in prebuilts right now that isnt totally garbage out of the box. im mostly doing freestyle, not racing, if that matters

honestly same boat as you a while back. ended up getting the Nazgul Evoque F5D and was surprised how decent the tune was out of the box, still had to tweak master multiplier and drop the D term a bit because it was a little buzzy on my specific motors but nothing crazy. maybe 20 minutes in betaflight and it felt like my own build. way less headache than diagnosing a fresh build from scratch.

the build quality is fine, not like handcrafted or anything but the stack is solid and the frame on that one has held up to some pretty dumb crashes. only thing i replaced early was the vtx because the stock one got warm but thats kind of expected. for freestyle its genuinely a good starting point.

the Apex from BetaFPV actually surprised me, i was skeptical because i always thought of them as a whoops company but a guy at my field had one and let me put it on my goggles and it flew really clean. that said i think it depends a lot on which motors you get it with and some people got units that needed a full retune. bit of a lottery maybe
