tried my first real freestyle session today, went about as well as you'd expect lol

okay so i finally stopped doing boring line of sight stuff and took my 5inch out to actually try some freestyle. spent like 20 minutes just trying to do a basic matty flip and kept either underrotating or just completely losing orientation and going nose first into the ground. broke two props. the quad is fine which is honestly the only win from today. i dont know how you guys make this look easy on youtube, i feel like im missing something fundamental about the timing. been watching joshua bardwell and others but watching and doing are very different things apparently

haha yeah the first few sessions are just prop sacrifices basically. matty flips tripped me up forever because the timing on the throttle cut and reinput is really unforgiving. try doing it lower and faster than you think you need to, most people try to do it slow and that's what kills it. also simulator hours genuinely help, i know everyone says that but its true

two props is a good day honestly. i went through like a whole pack of props my first freestyle weekend. dont stress the matty flip too much early on, some people find the wall flip or even just clean split s maneuvers easier to build the muscle memory first and then the matty clicks later once your orientation is better
