so ive been using litchi for about two years now mostly for automated waypoint stuff with my mini 3 pro and its been fine but ive been hearing a lot about dronelink lately and im genuinely curious if its worth switching or even just paying for a second subscription on top of litchi

my main thing is i do a lot of corridor mapping for some small ag clients nothing crazy just covering field edges and access roads mostly and litchi does it but honestly the mission hub interface feels like it hasnt been updated since like 2019 and some of the curve radius stuff drives me nuts when im trying to do tight turns around treelines

anyone here run both? is dronelink actually better for that kind of work or is it more for like recreational waypoint flying where you want cinematic curves and that kind of thing

ran both for a while actually. dronelink is way more polished on the planning side and the mission templates are genuinely useful once you figure out how theyre structured. the learning curve is a bit steeper than litchi but not crazy. for corridor mapping specifically i think dronelink handles the overlap settings and GSD calculations better right inside the app which saves me from having to cross-reference with something like webodm just to sanity check my coverage before i fly

that said litchi is just more plug and play and if your clients dont need deliverables beyond basic video it honestly gets the job done without having to think too hard. i kept both subscriptions for about 6 months then dropped litchi. dont regret it but your mileage may vary depending on how complex your missions are getting

not sure about dronelink specifically but i switched from litchi to just using dji fly with manual waypoints for most stuff and honestly its fine for what i do. though i only do recreational so maybe not super relevant to your situation lol
