EVO II Pro vs EVO II v3 ? is the pro version still worth it in?

  • Members

so ive been going back and forth on this for like two weeks now and cant decide. currently have a mini 3 pro but honestly getting a bit tired of the DJI ecosystem and wanting to try something different. the EVO II Pro with the 1 inch sensor sounds amazing on paper but then the v3 seems like a better overall package for the price now that its dropped a bit.

main thing im going to use it for is landscape photography and some real estate stuff on the side. not a ton of video but when i do shoot video i want it to look good. does the pro's larger sensor actually make a noticeable difference in real world use or is this one of those spec sheet things that doesnt really translate. and how is the Autel sky app these days, i remember reading it was kind of rough at launch

Had the EVO II Pro 6K for about a year and a half and honestly the sensor is the real deal for stills ? low light performance especially is noticeably better than anything with a smaller sensor. For real estate work it made a genuine difference for me in those tricky dusk shots where the interior lights are on.

The app has gotten much better, still not quite as polished as DJI Go or Fly, there's occasional weirdness with the waypoints but for normal flying it's totally fine now. My one gripe is the battery life feels slightly shorter than advertised in cold weather but thats not really an Autel specific thing.

If stills are your priority i'd lean pro. if you're doing a lot of video the v3's improvements to the processing pipeline are probably more relevant.

just switched from DJI to the EVO II v3 like two months ago and im not looking back honestly. came from a mavic 3 so the image quality comparison is close enough that i dont miss it. the obstacle avoidance on the v3 is way better than people give it credit for, i think a lot of the bad reviews were from earlier firmware.

cant really speak to the pro version never used one but for what you're describing either would probably work fine
