this has been bugging me for a while and i finally decided to just ask. my nano will just drop signal mid flight, comes back after a few seconds usually but its nerve wracking especially when im over water. doesnt seem to happen at any specific distance or anything, could be 50 feet away could be 300 feet away. already tried switching channels in the app which helped a tiny bit maybe.

im in a fairly suburban area so i know theres some interference but my old spark never had issues this bad in the same spots. is this a known thing with the nano or is my unit possibly defective. been flying it for about 8 months so its out of the initial return window

the nano's transmission system is honestly its weakest point compared to other drones in that class, thats just kind of a known thing in the community. that said random drops at 50 feet sounds more like an interference issue than range. do you have your phone wifi on while flying? that can cause weird conflicts with some controllers. also try turning off mobile data entirely before connecting, sounds dumb but it fixed a similar issue for my buddy with his nano plus.

if its still dropping after all that it might be worth reaching out to Autel support directly, ive heard their customer service is actually pretty decent compared to some other brands

yeah i had something simialr happen and it turned out to be my phone case partially blocking the antenna area on the controller. took it off and like 90% of the dropouts went away. might be worth trying if you havent already, felt a bit stupid when i figured that out tbh
