so i upgraded from a Mini 2 and honestly i was not fully prepared for how different it feels to fly. the wind resistance alone is just night and day. took it out on a pretty gusty afternoon just to see what it would do and it barely moved, like it was locked in place. coming from the Mini 2 which would get pushed around pretty noticeably in anything over 15mph this was kind of wild to see.

anyway the thing i actually wanted to post about ? the master shots mode. i never really used it on the mini because the results felt kind of generic but on the 3 with the better lens and the longer range it actually produces stuff that looks usable without touching it in post. i ran it over a lake near my house and three of the five clips were genuinely usable. that was not what i expected.

the one thing that annoyed me though is the RC controller that came with it kept losing signal when i had it in my jacket pocket, like the antennas were getting blocked by my body when i'd hand it off to look at something. probably user error but worth mentioning. anyone else had that?

the antenna thing is definitely a you problem lol but in the nicest way possible. the RC-N1 antennas on the controller need to be pointed roughly at the aircraft, not just up in the air. a lot of people dont realize the signal comes from the flat face of the antenna not the tip. took me an embarrassingly long time to figure that out when i first got mine. once you start adjusting them toward the drone you'll probably stop seeing that.

and yeah the wind handling on the 3 is genuinely impressive. i flew mine in a storm warning once (not recommending this) and it held position better than i expected it to. still came home and watched the footage of the tree branches going sideways and felt like maybe that was a bad call.

im also coming from a Mini 2 and have been debating the 3 for a while now. does the battery life actually hold up to what DJI says? i've heard people getting significantly less than the 46 min claim in real conditions especially with the wind stuff you're describing
