been shooting with my Air 2S for about 8 months and i keep reading that ND filters are basically essential for getting cinematic looking footage but every time i go down the rabbit hole of which ones to actually buy i get lost. theres the DJI ones obviously but they're like $80 for a set and then theres about a thousand options on amazon ranging from $15 to $60 and i genuinely cannot tell if there's a real difference or if people are just loyal to brands they already paid for.

mostly shooting landscapes and the occasional real estate thing for a friend. not doing this professionally or anything. would probably just want a basic set to start with, ND4 ND8 ND16 type situation. anyone gone through this and have an opinion that isnt just 'just buy the expensive ones'

honestly for landscapes and casual real estate stuff the mid-range sets are totally fine. i used a Freewell set for about a year before upgrading and the color cast is minimal once you white balance properly in post. the DJI ones are nice but youre paying for the name more than optical quality at that tier. the cheap $15 amazon mystery brand sets though i would skip, had one that introduced a weird warm tint that was a pain to color correct every single clip.

Freewell or Kase are probably the sweet spot for what you're describing. dont overthink it too much, the biggest improvement will just come from actually using them and learning which filter to reach for in different light conditions

this might be slightly off topic but are you shooting in D-Log on the 2S? because if not the ND filters help a bit but youre kind of leaving the bigger improvement on the table anyway. not saying dont get them just that the log profile + ND combo is where it really starts to look different. i spent like two months using ND filters in normal color mode wondering why my footage still looked kind of video-ish before someone told me lol
