so i just got back from a week in iceland and brought the mini 4 pro along. overall amazing experience but there were a few things that caught me off guard that i wish someone had mentioned before i went.
first the wind. i knew it was going to be windy but i did not expect gusts that would just randomly appear out of nowhere even on a calm looking day. lost about 40% battery just fighting wind on one flight near skogafoss. the drone handled it fine but still, plan for way shorter flight times than you think.
second the whole airspace thing there. most of the areas i wanted to fly were either in a national park or near some protected zone and the rules are actually stricter than i expected. had to use the icelandic transport authority website to check everything and a couple spots were just flat out no-go. did i fly anyway in a couple spots that were borderline gray areas... maybe. but i was careful about it.
the light though. oh man the golden hour lasts like 4 hours there in june. some of the footage i got was just absurd, worth every bit of the hassle getting the gear through security.
