finally got my Mavic 3 sorted after weeks of weirdness ? few things i learned

so anyway i finally got it working properly and figured id share what helped because i was losing my mind for a while there. bought my Mavic 3 Classic about 4 months ago and the first month was honestly rough, kept getting inconsistent video feeds and the RC-N1 controller would randomly just freeze up mid flight which terrified me every time.

turns out most of my issues were signal related and not actually the drone itself. i was flying near a park that had wifi routers from like 3 apartment buildings nearby and apparently that was just killing my 2.4ghz connection. switched to 5.8ghz in the settings and night and day difference honestly. also the ND filter set i got off amazon was garbage, the cheap ones introduced crazy flicker in anything above like 24fps so i ended up just getting the DJI ones which i know are overpriced but whatever they work.

one other thing ? dont underestimate how much the cache settings on your phone/tablet mess with the RC connection. clearing it out regularly helped more than i expected. anyway hope this saves someone else a few weeks of headaches

the 2.4 vs 5.8 thing gets so many people, i flew my old Mavic Air 2 for like 6 months before someone told me to actually think about which band im on depending on where i fly. 5.8 is better for crowded RF environments but you do lose a bit of range compared to 2.4 so its kind of a tradeoff depending on what youre doing. for park flying though yeah 5.8 all day.

also +1 on the cheap ND filters, ive gone through like three sets of knockoffs before just accepting that the DJI ones or at minimum PolarPro are worth the extra money. the flicker thing you mentioned is usually from coatings that arent quite right for the sensor. anyway glad you got it sorted, the Mavic 3 Classic is a fantastic camera once you stop fighting it
