is it worth putting a car mount thing on the RC2 controller or am i overcomplicating this

been thinking about this for a while and cant decide if its actually useful or just one of those things that looks cool in youtube videos. i do a lot of road trips and sometimes id like to have the controller mounted to the dash or windshield so i can monitor footage while my co-pilot drives but im not sure if the RC2 screen gets washed out in direct sunlight anyway which would kind of defeat the whole purpose.

has anyone actually done this or am i just going down a rabbit hole. also tangentially related but does anyone use a sun hood on the RC2 or do you find the screen bright enough without one on a normal sunny day. the one DJI sells seems overpriced for what it is but the third party ones look kind of flimsy in reviews

the sun hood thing is genuinely useful if you fly a lot midday in summer, the RC2 screen is decent but not immune to washout in harsh light. i got a third party one from a brand called Startrc i think, its held up okay for about 8 months, nothing fancy but does the job. wouldnt pay DJI prices for a piece of folded plastic personally.

as for the car mount i honestly havent tried it but i can imagine vibration from driving being annoying for the screen and also just like... is it legal where you are to have a screen mounted like that while the car is moving? might depend on your region. not trying to be the rules guy just something worth checking

i use a RAM mount setup for road trips, works fine, the RC2 fits in a tablet holder pretty securely. but honestly the sun glare is a real issue and even with the hood its not perfect if the sun is at a certain angle. i mostly use it just to keep the controller accessible and charged via the car USB rather than actually watching the screen while moving if that makes sense
