finally picked up an EVO Lite+ and have some questions about the camera settings

so i've been flying a mini 2 for about a year and decided to step up to the Autel EVO Lite+ mostly because i wanted something with a bigger sensor and the variable aperture was a huge selling point for me. got it last week and honestly the hardware feels really solid, way more substantial than the mini in hand.

my issue is the skylink app feels a bit clunky compared to the DJI fly app and i cant quite figure out where the manual histogram is buried in there. also when i set it to f/2.8 in low light situations the footage still looks a bit noisy to me at iso 3200 which surprised me given all the reviews saying the sensor was stellar. is that normal or am i doing something wrong? should i be shooting in a flat picture profile and grading later or is the standard profile fine for most situations

also curious if anyone has tips on ND filters for this thing, i know the aperture helps but for those bright sunny days im still guessing on which NDs i actually need

welcome to the Autel side haha. yeah the Skylink app took me a good few weeks to feel comfortable in, its not as intuitive as DJI fly honestly but you do get used to it. the histogram should be under the camera settings menu, theres a little icon that looks like a bar graph on the right side panel, easy to miss at first.

on the noise thing ? iso 3200 on any 1/2 inch sensor is gonna show some grain, i wouldnt stress too much but yeah shooting in the flat/Autel log profile and doing a light grade in post does help retain more dynamic range which kind of masks noise better than the in-camera sharpening does. for NDs i run a Freewell stack, the 6-9-10 stop kit works well on the Lite+, they do make a specific set for it and the fit is clean.

i have the regular EVO Lite not the plus version but i think a lot of the app stuff is the same. one thing i noticed is you really want to make sure you're on the latest firmware because earlier versions had some color processing weirdness that made footage look flat in a bad way not a good way lol. also just be patient with the app it does grow on you
