ok so this is probably a dumb question but bear with me. ive been going back and forth for like three weeks trying to decide between the EVO II Pro and the Nano+ and i feel like im going in circles. the price difference is pretty significant obviously but so is the sensor size. im mostly shooting landscape stuff, some travel, nothing commercial.

the Nano+ is so tempting because its genuinely tiny and i travel a lot so the packability matters, but i keep reading that the 1/1.28 inch sensor is kind of a compromise and doesnt really deliver on the promise in anything but ideal light. the EVO II Pro on the other hand feels like a lot of drone for just personal use and its older now so i wonder if im buying into aging hardware even if the image quality is still great

has anyone actually used both or gone through this same decision? what did you land on and do you regret it

had the Nano+ for about 8 months before upgrading to the II Pro and honestly... both are good but they really are different tools. the Nano+ is genuinely impressive for its size, like it punches above its weight in decent light. but you're right that in tricky lighting situations the gap opens up fast. for travel the Nano+ made me actually bring my drone places i never would have otherwise because it just disappears into a bag, so theres real value in that

the II Pro is a different beast, that 1 inch sensor with the variable aperture is legitimately cinema quality in the right hands. if landscape photography is your main thing and you care a lot about the final output i think you'd be slightly disappointed with the Nano+ eventually. but if you're someone who leaves gear at home because its too much hassle the Nano+ will get used way more and the best camera is the one you actually have with you type thing applies here too

i went through almost this exact same thing last year and ended up with the Nano+ and dont regret it at all for my use case but i do mostly casual social media stuff not serious landscape work. though i will say the wind resistance on the Nano+ is a bit of a limitation, anything above like 20mph and it starts getting sketchy which matters if you're shooting out in open landscapes where it can get gusty. probably worth factoring that in depending on where you fly
