so ive been trying to nail rolls on my 5inch and they just sort of... die halfway? like i'll initiate a roll and it starts fine then kind of slows down and goes mushy before completing. feels like it runs out of authority or something. running betaflight 4.4 and honestly my rates are probably all over the place, i just kind of copied someone elses paste from a youtube video months ago and never really touched it since. could be my P terms are too low? or maybe i just have terrible stick technique, genuinely cant tell at this point

almost definitely your I term fighting you tbh. if rolls feel like they stall out mid rotation thats usually i term being too high and it starts correcting against the roll before youve finished it. try dropping I on roll by like 10-15 and see if it feels snappier. also what props are you on because worn props make this so much worse

i had the exact same thing for ages and for me it was actually just rates lol. my roll rate was set too low so i was physically running out of stick travel. bumped my center sensitivity up and suddenly rolls snapped around way faster. might not be your problem but worth checking before you go digging through pid stuff
