been going back and forth on this for a while. looking at cinewhoop style quads in the 3.5 to 4inch range and the two brands that keep coming up are BetaFPV and Flywoo. ive owned BetaFPV stuff before, had a meteor and before that one of the older tiny whoops, generally pretty happy with them but ive heard good things about Flywoo lately especially for the Goku stacks and some of their frames

main use case is just carrying a naked GoPro for some smooth medium range flying, not racing, not really hardcore freestyle either. just want something that flies well out of the box or close to it without me having to spend 4 hours tuning. the Flywoo Explorer LR stuff looks interesting but im not sure if their quality control is consistent. has anyone had both and can actually compare them side by side

had a Flywoo Explorer LR 4 for about 8 months. build quality was actually suprisingly good when i got it, no obvious cold joints, motors were balanced fine. the Goku FC they use is decent and plays nice with betaflight which is really all i care about. did have one ESC go out on me after maybe 30 hours of flight time which was annoying but honestly that could happen with anything. BetaFPV stuff ive used has generally been more polished out of the box in terms of defaults and their app integration if you care about that but i find their frames a bit plasticy sometimes

for a naked GoPro cinewhoop situation id probably lean Flywoo just because the Explorer LR frame geometry is actually pretty well thought out for that purpose. the prop guards are decent and it doesnt feel like an afterthought the way some BetaFPV designs do. but tune it yourself anyway, factory tunes are never great on either brand

ive gone through like 4 or 5 betafpv quads over the years and they're fine for the price but i keep coming back to just building my own frames even for cinewhoops. the margins on prebuilts are so tight that they cut corners somewhere and it's usually the motors or the capacitors on the ESC. that said if youre not trying to build from scratch flywoo is probably the move for what you're describing, their LR stuff in particular seems aimed at exactly your use case
