landed in iceland and customs took forever because of the drone

so anyway just got back and had to share this. flew into reykjavik and the customs guy pulls me aside because of the case. spent like 45 minutes going back and forth, he kept asking if it was commercial equipment and i kept saying no its just for personal use. eventually they let me through but it was stressful. flying itself was incredible once i got out of the city, landed near some glacier runoff and the colors were insane. but yeah heads up if youre going, just be ready to explain yourself at the airport. also winds are absolutely brutal, lost a prop guard on day two.

the customs thing happened to me in japan, different situation obviously but same vibe where they just dont know what to do with it and you become the problem to solve. glad you got through. iceland has been on my list forever, did you manage to get any northern lights shots or was the timing off?

always carry a copy of the manual and the purchase receipt when traveling with gear internationally, clears up the commercial vs personal thing pretty fast usually. learned that the hard way in turkey a few years back. also yeah iceland wind is no joke, even bigger birds struggle there
