so ive been flying for about a year now mostly in calm conditions and i feel pretty comfortable with the sticks, can do some decent proximity stuff, freestyle basics, whatever. but the moment wind picks up past like 10-12mph i just feel totally lost. its not that the drone cant handle it, its that i dont really know how to compensate properly and i end up fighting it the whole time instead of flowing with it.
saw some guys at the field last weekend flying in what had to be 18-20mph gusts and they were smooth as hell, barely looked like they were doing anything different. i asked one of them and he just said 'you get used to it' which, okay, not super helpful lol. is there like an actual way to practice this or is it really just time in the air in bad conditions? do you lean into the wind before maneuvers or wait until youre already getting pushed? feel like im missing something fundamental here.
