so ive been using litchi for like two years now and honestly it does everything i need for simple waypoint stuff but a buddy keeps telling me dronelink is way better for more complex missions. tried the free tier of dronelink last weekend and i cant figure out if im just being dumb or if the interface is genuinely unintuitive compared to litchi. like i spent 45 minutes trying to set up a basic orbit with a POI and gave up and just did it in litchi in about 3 minutes.

not saying dronelink is bad, maybe theres a learning curve i need to push through. anyone made the switch and actually stuck with it? using a mini 3 pro btw, mostly doing real estate stuff and the occasional landscape shot for fun. the mission hub on dronelink looks really powerful once you get past the initial setup but idk if its worth rebuilding my whole workflow around it

dronelink has a steep learning curve no question. i felt the same way for the first few weeks honestly. the thing that clicked for me was watching the actual tutorial videos on their youtube, not just poking around the app. once you understand how it separates the mission components from the flight components it starts making a lot more sense. for real estate work though litchi is probably fine, dronelink really shines when youre doing repeatable survey-type stuff or you need really precise altitude control across terrain. if youre happy with litchi and it gets the job done i wouldnt stress about switching just because someone else prefers something different.

i actually ran both side by side for a few months on my air 2s. ended up staying with litchi mostly cause my whole library of saved missions is in there and i didnt want to redo everything. dronelink does handle terrain following better if thats something you care about, the way it can pull elevation data and adjust the flight path is pretty solid. but for real estate orbits and basic stuff? litchi all day. less friction, more reliable virtual joystick behavior in my experience anyway.
