Running a comparison between stock Betaflight PIDs and my custom tune on identical builds. Stock PIDs work surprisingly well for most pilots, but custom tuning unlocks significant performance improvements in responsiveness and motor output curves for specific race types. Test setup: Two identical F7 stacks with 2200KV motors on 4S, flying the same technical track section 20 times each.
Stock tune averaged 42.3s lap times with noticeable oscillation in tight corners. Custom tune averaged 39.8s with cleaner handling. Betaflight Configurator makes this process accessible across platforms, and the community support helps refine racing skills over time. Worth the time investment for serious racers?
