finally got the Mavic 3 Classic after months of back and forth ? some thoughts after first few flights

so i've been flying a Mini 2 for about two years and honestly was pretty happy with it but kept reading about the Hasselblad sensor on the Classic and eventually just pulled the trigger last month. first thing i noticed is how much heavier it feels in the hand compared to the Mini, which sounds obvious but you dont really appreciate it until you're holding both. the folded size isnt that much different which is nice.

image quality is genuinely better, not just in the way reviewers hype stuff up but actually noticeably better in low light and when you start pushing exposure in post. the dynamic range is ridiculous. shot some golden hour stuff over a reservoir near me and the highlights in the sky just held on in a way my Mini footage never did.

few things i wasnt expecting ? the RC Pro controller i got with it gets warm pretty quick in direct sun, and the obstacle avoidance beeping is way more aggressive than i thought it would be, keeps warning me when im flying near trees even when im like 15 feet away. probably saves me from myself tbh but it gets annoying on tight shots. anyone else turned down the sensitivity on APAS or found a good middle ground setting for that?

yeah the APAS sensitivity thing is real, i had the same experience when i upgraded. you can go into the safety settings and set it to bypass mode which basically lets you override it more easily, though i'd only mess with that once you're comfortable with how the drone handles near obstacles. the beeping doesnt fully go away but it at least stops fighting you on the sticks. congrats on the upgrade btw, the Classic's sensor really is as good as people say, i was skeptical but the color science out of that thing is just different

omg i have the exact same controller heat issue, thought something was wrong with mine. good to know its not just me. i mostly fly Mini 2 still but borrowed a friends Mavic 3 last summer and the RC Pro was almost uncomfortable to hold after about 45 mins in the sun. nobody really talks about that in reviews which is weird because its kind of a big deal if youre doing longer sessions
