this has been driving me absolutely insane for two weeks. mid pack, no warning, quad just drops. not a full failsafe, not a low battery cutoff, just like one corner dips hard and then its tumbling. sometimes it recovers if im low enough throttle, sometimes it just hits the ground.

already checked all the motor screws, reflowed a couple of solder joints that looked a little sus, still doing it. props are balanced and fairly new. i thought it might be a desync issue so i turned on RPM filtering and changed the DSHOT setting from 600 to 300 to see if that helped and it maybe got a little better? but still happened once yesterday.

running a 4in1 ESC, cant remember the exact model off the top of my head, think its a 45A one i got like a year ago. temps dont look crazy in the OSD but i havent actually logged them during a flight. anyone had this exact thing before, the sudden dip out of nowhere with no FC error in the logs?

pull the blackbox logs and actually look at the motor outputs when it happens. if you see one motor suddenly spike to max output right before the drop that's almost always a desync and you need to look at your ESC firmware version ? a lot of older BLHeli_32 firmware had desync issues on certain motor/ESC combos that got patched. also check if youre running bidirectional DSHOT correctly because if theres a timing mismatch with RPM filtering enabled it can actually make things worse in some cases.

if the motor output looks normal but throttle just drops, id start suspecting a capacitor issue on the ESC or even a flaky battery connector, ive seen a loose XT60 cause exactly that symptom where it just browns out for a split second

had something weirdly similar a few months back, turned out to be a cracked motor bell. like not obviously cracked, i could only see it under decent light at a certain angle. one of the magnets had shifted just slightly and it was causing intermittent torque issues. worth pulling each motor and spinning the bell by hand to feel for any roughness or wobble that wasnt there before
