so im heading to Iceland in like 5 weeks and obviously bringing the mini 4 pro. ive done a ton of research but honestly the rules there seem a bit confusing, like some sites say you need to register some say you dont depending on where youre flying. anyone actually been there recently and flown?

mainly want to get some shots around the south coast, jokulsarlon, maybe some of the lava fields. also kind of worried about the wind because ive heard it can just absolutely destroy you out of nowhere. my biggest concern honestly is losing the drone in the ocean or something stupid like that

went last october and flew pretty much every day. wind is no joke, like genuinely caught me off guard near vik and the thing was fighting just to hold position. just dont fly near the cliffs when its gusty, learned that lesson fast. jokulsarlon was incredible though, total mirror shot early morning before any tourists showed up

registration wise i think you need to be EASA compliant since iceland is in the EEA even though its not EU, so basically same rules as flying in like germany or france. C1/C0 category stuff. just make sure you have your A1/A3 cert and you should be fine for recreational stuff away from people

oh man i was just there in the summer and the weather changes SO fast. like i had a perfect window at skogafoss and then 20 minutes later it was sideways rain. just keep an eye on windy.com constantly, that app saved me multiple times. also some of the national park areas are restricted so double check before you go, i almost flew somewhere i definitely shouldnt have
