so this has been driving me absolutely crazy for the past two weeks. im flying my mini 3 pro and it just randomly drops connection, usually around 200-300m out but sometimes even closer than that. the video feed cuts out first then RC-N1 loses link entirely for like 3-5 seconds then reconnects. no obstacles between me and the drone, open field, not near any towers or anything obvious.

ive tried switching from 2.4ghz to 5.8ghz and honestly 5.8 seems worse in my area. went back to auto and its still doing it. updated firmware last week thinking maybe that was it but nope. battery is fine, signal bars look decent right up until it drops. its not a consistent range thing either, sometimes it happens at 150m sometimes it gets to 400 before dropping.

anyone dealt with this before? starting to wonder if my RC controller has a hardware issue or if theres something weird going on with interference in my area

had almost the exact same thing happen with my air 2s last summer. turned out there was a newer wifi router installed in the house across from my usual flying spot and it was absolutely hammering the 2.4ghz band. i downloaded a wifi analyzer app on my phone and walked around the area and the channel overlap was insane. if you havent already, grab a spectrum analyzer or even just something like wifi analyzer for android and check what frequencies are active around your flying spot. the auto switching on DJI controllers sounds good in theory but in a congested RF environment it sometimes just flips between two bad options.

also worth checking your antenna orientation on the RC-N1. those little antennas should be perpendicular to the drone when possible, a lot of people dont think about that and it makes a real difference at range.

could be a loose antenna connection inside the controller itself. i know that sounds weird but ive seen it come up a few times on here. if its still under warranty id honestly just contact DJI support before you go too deep into troubleshooting, they replaced my controller pretty quick when i had something similar and couldnt pin down the cause
