just got back from the testing center. passed with an 82, which is not amazing but it is what it is, i'll take it. figured i'd write up some stuff while its fresh because when i was studying i was always looking for posts like this and couldnt find many recent ones.
the testing center itself was pretty whatever, just a little room with like 6 computers. they gave me a laminated chart supplement booklet and the sectional chart excerpt to use during the test which was helpful. they dont let you bring anything in obviously. you get 2 hours for 60 questions and i finished in maybe 55 minutes and then went back over the ones i flagged. i flagged maybe 12 questions the first pass through.
the breakdown felt pretty heavy on weather and airspace for me, maybe more than i expected. got a few questions that felt weirdly specific about airport operations stuff, like runway markings and hold short lines, which i honestly had only kind of skimmed. the chart reading questions were very doable if you practice those. overall it wasnt as scary as i built it up to be in my head
