DroneDeploy processes data in cloud only - operators looking to fix point clouds or refine output encounter less freedom than desktop processing. Pix4D provides incredible control over outputs plus local processing option for data security. Anyone made the jump to desktop perpetual? Concerned about hardware requirements for large datasets over 1000 images - processing times reportedly drop from 1+ weeks to under 48 hours with proper setup.

Hands down, bite the bullet and go with Mapper desktop perpetual - you control the final product and pay for software once. DroneDeploy is good starting point, but move to Pix4D when you need more processing control.

Depends entirely on who you want controlling your final product - third-party vendor or yourself. Almost need subscriptions to at least 2 programs to cover most projects - can you afford to carry enterprise account cost long term?

I'm still learning photogrammetry basics - does desktop version really make that much difference for accuracy? All photogrammetry software seems ridiculously priced for someone just getting started.
