been looking at frames for a new 5inch build and keep seeing people in comments dunking on the armattan rooster whenever someone recommends it but nobody ever explains why. like ive seen it described as outdated and also as the best long term investment in the same thread and im just confused. the lifetime warranty thing seems actually useful if youre a crasher like me but maybe im missing something about the design thats bad?

currently flying a cheaper chinese frame i got on sale and the arm cracked after my third real outdoor session so warranty matters to me. budget is maybe 60-80 dollars for the frame, not trying to go full carbon wallet-destroyer territory

the hate is mostly from people who care a lot about the aesthetics and the weight. rooster is definitely not a light frame, and the geometry is kind of dated compared to what the top freestyle guys are running now. if youre doing like big flowy lines in an open field it probably doesnt matter at all but people who like snappy technical flying sometimes say it feels a bit sluggish to flip, though honestly i think thats more motors and tune than the frame itself.

the warranty is real though. ive seen people mail in destroyed arms like two years after buying and get new ones no questions asked. for someone who crashes a lot its genuinely a good pick, the haters are mostly people who just want the newest thing

its an internet thing tbh. frame wars are almost as bad as FC wars. the rooster will fly fine, its solid carbon and the standoff layout is reasonable. ive built on worse in your budget range for sure. tldr dont overthink it
