what accessories are actually worth buying for the mini 4 pro vs just waste of money

  • Members

just picked up the mini 4 pro fly more combo last weekend and now im going down a rabbit hole of accessories on amazon and its kind of overwhelming. theres like ND filter sets, propeller guards, landing pads, cases, all this stuff and i dont know what actually makes a difference vs just being marketed at people who just bought a drone and are excited.

i mostly plan on doing landscape stuff at hiking spots, maybe some video of my dog running around at the beach. not doing any professional work or anything, just hobby flying. already have the extra batteries from the combo so im good on that front. anyone been through this whole thing and figured out what they actually use vs what just sat in a drawer

ND filters are the one thing i'd say are genuinely worth it if you care at all about how your video looks. without them youre fighting overexposed footage in bright sun or your shutter speed gets all wrong and motion looks weird and stuttery. i got a cheap Freewell set and honestly its fine, you dont need to spend a ton. landing pad is nice if you fly anywhere with grass or gravel, keeps dust out of the motors and only costs like 15 bucks. propeller guards i never use personally, they mess with the aerodynamics and add weight and if youre flying outdoors you dont really need them. skip the random case if you have the fly more bag already, its redundant

honestly the thing that made the biggest difference for me wasnt any physical accessory, it was just getting a tablet mount for the controller so im not squinting at my phone in sunlight. completely changed how comfortable flying feels. for beach stuff with your dog though just be careful because salt air and sand are not great for the drone, i'd wipe it down after every session near the water even if it looks fine
