so ive been flying for about two years now mostly solo and im kinda tired of just going out by myself every weekend. looked around online for any group events or fly-ins in georgia or the carolinas and honestly cant find much that isnt like a huge organized competition thing. i just want something casual where people show up fly around maybe talk gear you know. does anyone know if those even exist anymore or did covid kind of kill that scene off permanently

they definitely still happen just not always easy to find. facebook groups are honestly where most of the local stuff gets organized, not on forums like this. search for your state plus fpv or multirotors and you'll probably find something. there's a group in SC that does informal meetups at a soccer field once a month, pretty chill. mostly guys just flying freestyle and talking trash about their builds lol

same situation here in florida. i found one meetup last year through a local hobby shop actually, they had a board with a flyer on it which felt very 2003 but whatever it worked. showed up and there were like 8 people and it was honestly one of the better afternoons ive had flying. nobody was weird about what gear you had either which i was kind of nervous about as a newer pilot
