EVO II Pro v3 acting weird after firmware update ? gimbal keeps twitching

  • Members

so this started after the last firmware update, not sure exactly which version it pushed to but it was maybe two weeks ago. the gimbal on my EVO II Pro was totally fine before and now theres this subtle but annoying twitching happening mostly when i yaw the drone. like its almost like a micro-jitter that you can see in the footage if you look at it on a bigger screen.

tried recalibrating the gimbal through the app, didnt fix it. flew in a different location thinking maybe it was interference related, same thing. the drone itself flies totally fine, its just the gimbal behavior thats off. kind of at a loss here and getting a little frustrated because i have a paid shoot coming up in about 10 days and dont really want to send it in for service right now.

anybody run into this or know if Autel pushed any kind of patch? i searched around but couldnt find much

yeah i saw a couple people mention something similar over on the Autel facebook group after that update. one guy said doing a full factory reset and then recalibrating everything from scratch fixed it for him. not ideal obviously but might be worth trying before you panic. also make sure when you do the gimbal cal that the drone is on a completely flat surface, i've messed that up before and it made things worse lol.

if you cant get it sorted id honestly reach out to Autel support directly, theyve been pretty responsive in my experience, better than i expected tbh. they might know if its a known firmware issue.

i dont have the Pro but had a gimbal issue on my regular EVO II a while back that turned out to be a loose ribbon cable inside. totally unrelated to firmware but just something to keep in mind if the software side doesnt pan out. for a paid shoot i'd want to be really sure before relying on it, maybe see if you can rent a backup just in case
