so ive been studying for about 6 weeks now mostly using the FAA study guide and a couple youtube channels and i feel like i know the airspace stuff pretty well but the weather section is killing me. like i understand the basics but when they throw those METAR readings at me i just freeze up. does the actual test have a lot of those or is it more focused on the airspace charts? also not sure how hard the questions are compared to the practice tests ive been doing on prepware

i fly a mavic pro 2 so i have some hands on experience but obviously thats not really what the test is about. anyway if anyone has taken it recently any advice would be great, im scheduled for tuesday at a PSI testing center about an hour from me

the METARs arent as bad as they seem once you just memorize the format. honestly i spent like two days just drilling those and by the end it clicked. the test i took had maybe 3 or 4 weather related questions and only one was a full METAR decode. the airspace stuff was way more represented, sectional chart reading, class B and D requirements, that kind of thing.

prepware is solid but i'd also do the FAA practice test on their actual site just to see the format. some of the wording on the real test is a little different from third party stuff and you dont want to get tripped up on that. you got this, just dont overthink it tuesday morning

i passed mine like two months ago and honestly the hardest part was just sitting still for two hours lol. study the sectional chart legend until you could draw it in your sleep. thats what got me. oh and the loading and performance stuff, i almost skipped that section thinking it wouldnt show up much but there were a few questions on it
