this has been driving me insane for like two weeks. one of my motors started twitching and stuttering when i throttle up from a low hover, kind of like a desync but not quite ? it doesnt flip the quad, it just hesitates and then catches up. i figured bad motor so i swapped it out with a brand new one i had sitting around.

still doing the exact same thing on the same corner. so now im thinking its the esc but i dont really know how to confirm that without just buying one and trying it. running blheli_32 on a 4in1, am i able to isolate which esc channel is the problem through blheli suite or is that not really a thing

props are balanced, filters are set to stock betaflight defaults because i havent touched any of that stuff yet. running 4s on a 2306 setup if that matters

yeah you can actually see per-motor telemetry in blheli suite if your esc supports it, just connect up and look at the rpm and current readouts while you arm and throttle up slowly on the bench with no props. if that channel is spiking weird or dropping out youll see it. also check your motor screws on that corner, a loose motor can cause that exact stuttering behavior because the motor is physically moving slightly under load and messing up the feedback. sounds dumb but ive chased an "esc issue" for days that turned out to be one loose m2 screw

could also be a bad solder joint on that esc phase wire, especially if this started after a hard landing at some point. reflow the three motor pads on that corner and see if anything looks cold or cracked under magnification. i had almost exactly this symptom last year and it was a hairline crack in one of the phase solder joints that was only making intermittent contact. the motor tested fine on a different esc which made it really confusing for a while
