finally pulled the trigger on a prebuilt ? was it a mistake?

ok so ive been flying freestyle for about 8 months now, mostly on a 5inch i built myself from a kit, nothing fancy, just a standard stack with a F7 flight controller and some 2306 motors i grabbed on sale. it flies fine but ive always had this nagging feeling that building it myself meant i cut corners somewhere and i never fully trusted it.

anyway long story short i just ordered a Diatone Roma F5 prebuilt because a guy at my local field had one and it looked really solid, welds looked clean, stack was mounted properly, just felt like a quality product. paid more than i wouldve for parts but figured the peace of mind was worth it.

now im second guessing myself because everyone online seems to act like buying prebuilt is for people who dont know what theyre doing, but that seems kinda elitist to me. like who cares how you got flying as long as youre actually out there flying. anyone else been down this road? did the diatone hold up for you guys or should i brace for disappointment

diatone stuff is generally pretty solid tbh, ive had a Roma F5 V2 for almost a year and only issue ive had was one motor bell cracked after a really bad concrete slam, which honestly could have happened to anything. the wiring out of the box is way cleaner than my first two builds ever were so i wouldnt stress it.

the prebuilt vs custom thing is one of those endless arguments that never really goes anywhere. if you know betaflight well enough to tune it yourself then prebuilt is totally fine, the disadvantage only shows up if something breaks and you have no idea whats in there. sounds like youre not that guy so you should be good.

honestly same boat, i bought an iflight nazgul before i learned to build and people gave me so much grief about it on here lol. flew that thing for like 6 months and learned betaflight on it and then built my own when i actually had a clue what i was doing. no regrets. prebuilt gets you flying faster and sometimes thats just what you need
