so my situation is i have a tiny whoop i've been bashing around indoors since last winter and im ready to step up to something i can actually fly outside, probably 3.5 or 4 inch to start since i dont have a huge open space near me. ive been looking at iflight and betafpv mostly because those are what comes up when i search and they both seem to have options in that size range.

from what i can tell the iflight build quality is supposed to be better but betafpv has stuff thats more plug and play with their expresslrs stuff already baked in which is appealing since i just got an ELRS radio and dont want to deal with rebinding or compatibility headaches. is that actually a real advantage or is it kinda overstated. also open to other brands if im missing something obvious, i dont really know what else is out there in the sub-4inch space

the elrs integration point is real, not overstated at all. having the receiver already bound and configured saves you a surprising amount of time especially if youre still figuring stuff out. betafpv's Meteor and Pavo series are decent enough for the price, nothing jaw dropping but they dont fall apart either.

that said if you can stretch a little the iflight DC3 or similar is noticeably better built and the motors they spec on their mid-range stuff tend to last longer in my experience. the betafpv motors on the cheaper end feel a little undersized for anything but casual park flying. depends how hard you plan to fly it i guess.

have you looked at flywoo at all? their explorer LR and some of the nano builds are really well thought out for the size, and they do ELRS versions too. i switched to flywoo for my 3inch after going through two betafpv frames that cracked in the same spot and havent looked back. just something to throw in the mix before you decide
