FAA finally updated the remote ID enforcement timeline ? anyone else catch this?

so i was digging through some FAA notices last night and it looks like they've actually started sending out enforcement letters to some operators who haven't complied with remote ID yet. like actual letters, not just the usual 'we're watching' kind of language. i know a lot of people in this community have been sort of half-ignoring it hoping it would just get pushed back again like everything else but it seems like they're starting to get serious.

for context im running a small aerial photography side business and ive been compliant since pretty early on but i have a buddy who flies recreationally and still hasnt registered his mavic or added a remote ID module. been trying to get him to deal with it for months. anyone else seeing more enforcement activity in their area or is this still pretty spotty depending on where you are?

yeah heard about this, a guy in my local club got flagged at a park last month. law enforcement actually had an app open checking for remote ID broadcasts which honestly surprised me, i didnt think they were actually set up to do that yet. he wasnt doing anything wrong just didnt have a module on his older quad. got off with a warning but still.

tell your buddy to just deal with it, the broadcast modules aren't even that expensive anymore and the process to add one isnt terrible. better than getting hit with a fine that could seriously ruin a hobby or a small business.

wait so do recreational flyers have to do remote ID too? i thought that was just for commercial stuff. im still pretty new to all this and i honestly find the FAA rules really confusing, every time i think i understand them i read something that makes me second guess everything lol
