so this has been driving me nuts for the past week. i've got the Zenmuse X7 on my M300 and ever since i updated the firmware like 10 days ago the gimbal has this slow drift on the roll axis, super subtle but you can see it in footage if you're doing any kind of slow pan. it's like maybe half a degree over 8-10 seconds which sounds small but when you're doing cinematic stuff it completely kills the shot.

ive already tried recalibrating through the DJI Pilot app like three times, tried it on a flat surface, tried it with the lens removed, nothing. the gimbal motors sound fine, no grinding or anything, and the yaw and pitch seem totally stable. just this weird slow roll drift that wasn't there before the update.

anyone seen this with the X7 specifically or is this something that happens with other zenmuse gimbals too after updates? wondering if i should just roll back the firmware but i dont remember exactly which version i was on before.

yeah i saw a few people complaining about this on the DJI enterprise forums too, think it's a known issue with that specific update. someone mentioned doing an IMU calibration separately from the gimbal cal, like actually going into the aircraft IMU settings not just the gimbal menu. worth trying before you roll back. rolling back is kind of a pain anyway if you dont have the older firmware file saved somewhere.

not on the X7 but i had something similar on my XT2 a while back and it turned out to be a loose ribbon cable inside the gimbal housing. the firmware update didn't cause it but probably changed some torque compensation values and made an existing mechanical problem more visible. might be worth checking if the gimbal is still under warranty before you open anything up obviously.
