finally pulling the trigger on a 5" freestyle build ? help me not screw up parts selection

ok so ive been flying a nazgul evoque for about 8 months now and i think im ready to build something from scratch. been doing a ton of research but honestly the more i read the more confused i get because everyones got a different opinion on everything.

current plan is something like: Speedybee F7 stack, Tmotor F60 Pro IV 2306 2400kv motors, HQProp 5x4.3x3 props, and either a Walksnail Avatar or DJI O3 for video. running 4S because i have a bunch of 4S lipos already and dont really want to buy all new batteries.

main thing im unsure about is the frame. was looking at the ImpulseRC Apex but also seen a lot of people talking about the Chameleon Ti lately. mostly gonna be doing park and backyard freestyle, maybe some light gaps but nothing insane. weight matters a little to me but durability matters more honestly.

also should i be on 4S or just bite the bullet and go 6S with those motors? the F60s are rated for it but im not sure if its worth the battery investment right now.

the Apex is a solid choice but personally i think its a little overhyped at this point. the Chameleon Ti is genuinely great if you're doing real freestyle ? the arm geometry helps with prop wash and it just feels planted in ways that some of the newer frames dont. that said ive snapped a chameleon arm before on a bad concrete kiss so "durable" is relative lol

on the 4S vs 6S thing ? if you already have 4S packs just stay on 4S for now. the F60 Pro IVs are great on 4S, you'll have plenty of punch for freestyle. 6S only really makes sense if you're starting fresh or if you want that extra headroom for cinematic punch-outs. the efficiency gains are real but not worth dropping money on new packs just yet.

one thing id actually reconsider is the Speedybee F7 stack. its fine but the ESC has had some heat issues under sustained load based on what ive seen in a few threads. might look at the Aikon AK32Pro or even the Mamba F722 if you want something that runs cooler. just something to think about before you buy.

dont sleep on the TBS Source One v5 for the frame if budget is a concern at all ? way cheaper than Apex and honestly holds up better than you'd expect. ive crashed mine into concrete multiple times and only broke one arm, arms are cheap to replace too.

also +1 on staying 4S if you have the packs already, its a hobby not a math problem lol
