ok so context: ive gone through two whoops and my buddy keeps telling me to just get a "real" drone meaning something with gps and proper stabilization. im not totally new to flying but i clearly cant stop crashing things. the fpv stuff is fun but i think i need something that wont just fall out of the sky the second i do something dumb.

the thing is i dont want something that feels like a toy either, like those cheap ones on amazon that fly for 8 minutes and the camera looks like a potato. ive seen people mention the holy stone stuff and honestly it looks kinda plasticky to me. is there a middle ground here or am i just going to have to spend more than i want to

the holy stone hate is a bit much imo, they're fine for what they are but yeah if you've already done fpv stuff you're probably going to find them boring pretty fast. honestly sounds like you might just want a dji mini of some kind. the gps hold alone will feel like cheating after flying a whoop manually. your muscle memory from fpv will actually help a lot with the sticks even if the flight characteristics are totally different.

the mini 2 SE can sometimes be found refurbished for not much money if budget is the thing. or just save up a bit more and get the mini 4 pro if you want obstacle sensing because crashing into a tree branch is a completely different experience when the drone just... stops before it hits.

tbh if youre coming from fpv you might find gps drones kind of boring to fly. not a knock on them just saying the flight feel is completely different. though i get wanting something that you dont have to rebuild every other weekend
