so ive been dealing with this for like two weeks now and its driving me insane. my mavic 3 just randomly drops connection, sometimes for half a second sometimes for like 3-4 seconds and then it reconnects. doesnt seem to matter how far i am either, i had it happen at like 80 meters away which is basically in my backyard range.

setup is stock, using the RC-N1 controller, havent modded anything. i did update to the latest firmware maybe around the time this started but honestly i cant tell if thats when it began or if i just started noticing it more. flying mostly in a semi-rural area, some houses around but not a dense neighborhood or anything.

the disconnect pattern doesnt seem tied to orientation or distance which is what throws me off. like sometimes ill be flying directly toward myself and it happens, other times ill be 200m out and totally fine. checked the antennas on the controller, they look seated fine. anyone dealt with this kind of thing?

first thing id check is wifi interference honestly. the RC-N1 runs on your phone and those 2.4 and 5.8ghz channels get absolutely hammered in residential areas now with everyone having mesh networks and smart home stuff. try going into the dji app and manually forcing it to a specific channel instead of letting it auto-select, thats fixed this exact thing for me before. also worth checking if you have bluetooth on your phone, ive seen that cause weird brief disconnects too even though in theory it shouldnt matter.

the firmware thing is worth looking into too, there were some reported issues with a couple builds last year that caused link quality problems. might be worth checking the dji forums for your specific firmware version.

had almost the same thing happen with mine and it turned out to be my phone case interfering with the usb connection to the controller. sounds dumb but the connection between the phone and RC-N1 was slightly loose and any vibration from the motors would cause a brief dropout. took the case off and problem mostly went away. not saying thats definitely your issue but worth ruling out the physical stuff before going deep into rf interference troubleshooting
