Mini 3 Pro vs Air 3 ? is it actually worth the price jump

  • Members

so ive been flying my Mini 3 Pro for about 8 months now and honestly love it but i keep seeing the Air 3 come up whenever i browse around here and im starting to wonder if i made the wrong call or if i should upgrade at some point

the main thing that bugs me about the mini is the wind handling ? anything above like 25kph and it starts feeling really sketchy, had a few moments where i thought i was gonna lose it. the Air 3 has that bigger sensor and supposedly way better wind resistance but im not sure if its actually noticeably better in real world use or just on paper

also the dual camera setup on the Air 3 seems genuinely useful, not just a gimmick? i do a lot of landscape and some casual real estate stuff on the side so having that medium tele option would probably get used. just not sure if its $500 more useful if that makes sense

anyone gone from the mini 3 pro to the Air 3 or been flying both? would love to hear actual experience not just spec sheet comparisons

made that exact jump about 4 months ago and honestly the wind handling difference is real, not marketing fluff. i was in a pretty exposed coastal area last month with gusts hitting maybe 35-40kph and the Air 3 was totally composed, just hovering steady while my buddy next to me with a mini was fighting to keep it in frame. that alone was worth it for me

the dual cam thing i was skeptical about but i use the tele way more than i expected. for real estate specifically its super handy because you can get compression on a facade shot without having to fly as far back, especially in tight neighborhoods where you dont have the room to pull back with a wide. the image quality between the two focal lengths is really consistent too which helps if you're cutting footage together

only thing i'll say is if weight and portability is your main thing the mini wins obviously. the Air 3 isnt huge but its definitely not a pocket drone anymore

i have the Air 3 and came from an older Mavic Air 2 not the mini so slightly different path but the dual camera genuinely changed how i shoot. i thought id always just use the wide but now i probably split it like 60/40. the tele just gives you a different look, more cinematic compression thing going on

cant really speak to the wind comparison though sorry, i dont push mine that hard usually
