so anyway i finally got the new FC flashed and everything seemed fine on the bench but took it out yesterday and the rolls just feel... off. like theyre completing fine but theres this kind of softness at the end of the roll that wasnt there before. hard to describe. previous tune on the old board was snappy as hell and i had the P and D pretty high, filtering was mostly defaults with just a bit of RPM filter on.

copied over the diff all to the new board which i know can sometimes cause issues but figured id start from a known point. running the same motors and props, nothing changed hardware wise. betaflight 4.4.2 on both boards. not sure if its a gyro alignment thing or if 4.4.2 has different defaults somewhere that im not accounting for. tried bumping P on roll a bit and it got twitchy without actually fixing the mush feeling so i backed off.

anyone had something similar when moving a tune between boards? im probably missing something obvious

check your master multiplier first, sometimes when you paste a diff the scaling ends up weird especially if the boards have different gyro hardware. also 4.4.2 changed some of the dterm defaults i think, the dterm cutoff might be lower than you had it before which can absolutely cause that trailing mush feeling on rolls. id post the diff here if you want someone to actually look at the numbers

had the exact same thing happen when i went from an f4 board to an f7 last year. the gyro sample rate was different and i didnt update the filter settings to match, took me like a week to figure out why it felt wrong. also worth double checking your motor direction and props havent somehow ended up slightly wrong after the rebuild, sounds dumb but ive done it twice lol. the mush on roll endpoints can also sometimes be dmax being too conservative but im just guessing at this point without seeing your rates and PID tab
