so this has been bugging me for a while and i finally decided to post about it. basically in normal mode when i let go of the sticks the drone hovers fine for a second then starts this slow drift, usually backwards and slightly left. its not dramatic but its annoying and i notice it way more when im trying to get a slow pull back shot because the footage just looks slightly wrong

ive done the IMU calibration twice and compass once, flying mostly in open areas away from interference. wind wasnt really a factor the last few times it happened, was pretty calm. motors all look fine visually no obvious damage. running the latest firmware i think, havent checked in a few weeks though

genuinely not sure if this is a sensor thing or something with my remote setup or what. the motion controller is what i use 90% of the time if that matters

check your firmware first thats always step one, dji pushed a few updates in the last couple months and one of them specifically addressed some hovering stability stuff. also try calibrating the IMU somewhere completely flat and indoors if you can, doing it on pavement that looks flat but isnt can give you garbage calibration data

the motion controller can also introduce some weirdness if the controller itself isnt calibrated, there should be a stick calibration option in the app settings, run through that and see if anything looks off center

had almost the exact same issue a while back, turned out one of my motors had a slightly bent shaft from a landing i didnt think was that bad. wasnt visually obvious until i spun them up slowly by hand and felt the vibration. worth checking if you havent already, even a tiny bend will mess with the flight controller trying to compensate
