so the Neo has been out for a bit now and i keep going back and forth on whether its actually a cool little drone or just DJI doing their thing where they release something that sounds exciting and then you realize its kinda limited once you actually use it. the no-controller thing is interesting to me but i already have a mini 3 pro so im not sure theres a real reason to get one beyond it being a fun toy

the price point seems okay but i dunno, feels like its aimed at people who want to post reels and dont really care about manual control which like, fine, but thats not really me. maybe im the wrong audience. curious if anyone here has actually flown one and what they think versus just watching youtube videos about it because those are always kind of useless

I picked one up a few weeks ago mostly out of curiosity and tbh it's exactly what you described ? it's a social media drone, full stop. The follow modes work surprisingly well for something that small and the footage is decent in good light. But yeah if you already have a Mini 3 Pro you're not gaining much except portability and the novelty of throwing it in the air with no controller. I use mine when im being lazy and dont want to bring a bag. Thats about it.

the no controller thing would drive me absolutely insane, i need to feel like i have actual control over where the thing is going. maybe thats just me being old fashioned about it but i watched a video of someone using just hand gestures and it looked stressful. also curious how it handles any kind of wind, the small ones always struggle and that thing looks pretty light
